Who I am

Hi, I’m Amanda Fisher - Founder of Ovation HR and Principal Consultant

I’ve always been a problem-solver, a mediator, and the person others turn to for advice. I’m comfortable having the conversations most people avoid - not because they’re easy, but because they’re important. I’ve got the kind of face people want to tell their secrets to, the kind of spirit that encourages people to dream, and the kind of presence that makes space for people to show up as their full selves.

With over 12 years in HR, I’ve supported startups, nonprofits, and growing businesses through just about every “people” challenge - from recruiting and onboarding to performance, employee relations, change management, and culture work. I’m SHRM-CP certified and hold a degree in Human Resource Administration, but more importantly, I bring a people-first, collaborative approach that’s practical, down-to-earth, and tailored to your team.

I believe the best HR supports both the business and the people - because one can’t thrive without the other.

Outside of work, you can usually find me near any body of water (big Cancer energy), hanging with my two dogs and my husband, binge-watching reality TV, or singing a gut-wrenching ballad at karaoke to show off my vocals and (let’s be honest) crush the vibe.

Hi, I’m Don Fisher- Head of Growth & Operations

I make sure everything we do is thoughtful, intentional, and built to last. I lead operations, marketing, and sales at Ovation HR, bringing a strategic lens to how we run our business and support yours.

Before Ovation HR, I spent over a decade in journalism and automotive sales, where I learned how to communicate clearly, connect with people quickly, and stay calm in just about any situation. Today, those skills show up in how I streamline systems, build marketing strategies, improve workflows, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

I’m known for spotting inefficiencies others miss and turning “this is a mess” into “okay, now this makes sense.” I focus on connecting the dots behind the scenes so everything runs smoothly for our clients.

I live in Missoula, Montana, where I work alongside my wife Amanda and our two very loved dogs, Jasper and Gracie. I drink too much black tea, count down the days until football season (go Steelers), and take pride in building a business that treats people like people.
